Massage and body work is about touch. We believe that the experience of being touched with compassion and love by another human being is essential to the proper development and maintenance of everyone's psychological, social and physical well being. Our goal is to provide this experience to all of our clients.
However, touch can be abusive when it is done without permission from the one being touched. Therefore, we take full responsibility for communicating with our clients to ensure that our touch is always appropriate.
Although touch can be intimate, touching with sexual intentions is outside the bounds of our professional practice and is NEVER appropriate by either party.
General Information
- To insure your privacy all body treatments are done dressed to your level of comfort.
We recommend a shower and not shaving prior to any spa service. Shaving immediately prior to treatment may result in skin irritation.
- To ensure you receive the most from your spa experience, we ask that all cell phones, telephones and pagers be turned off.
- Our Spa Associates will refuse treatments if any of the following apply: any medical contraindications for massage or body treatments, broken skin or lesions, intoxication or inappropriate behavior.
Medical Conditions
- To ensure proper treatment all clients are required to fill out a client intake form for each session. Information provided is strictly confidential and is kept on file at our office.
- Please advise your Spa Associate of pregnancy, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, varicosities or any other medical concerns prior to treatment. Certain medical conditions are contraindicated for particular spa services but the Spa Associate may use a different modality that best suits you.
Age Requirement
- Clients must be 18 years of age or supervised by an adult.
Conduct
- Inappropriate or indecent behavior and actions are prohibited. Services will be discontinued immediately and the full amount of services will be charged. Inappropriate conduct will also be reported to the proper authorities.
Punctuality
- Our Spa Associates will arrive 15-20 minutes to hotel or residency and one hour for parties and events, prior to your appointment to set up for your spa experience.
- If the client is late for the scheduled appointment, only the remaining time will be allotted to continue service. Please note the client will still be charged full price for scheduled services.
- Because this is a mobile service unavoidable delays may occur due to traffic. If the Spa Associate arrives late to the scheduled appointment, the full service time will be given to the client or a gift certificate equivalent to the scheduled service will be given if the client chooses to cancel.
Valuables
- Please place all valuables in an undisclosed area. Seija Spa is not responsible for lost items.
- Damage and/or loss to any of Seija On-Site Spa’s equipment, supplies or accessories will be billed to the primary client.
